Wearing of the Green!
On Saturday, March 25, downtown Quebec City will resound to the sound of bagpipes and the steps of the participants of the 11th Quebec City St. Patrick’s Day Parade!
Four outside bagpipe and percussion groups will be present, including Boston ( Boston Police Gaelic Column of Pipes and Drums), New York ( Pipes & Drums Of The Emerald Society of the New York City Police Department), Chicago(Pipes and Drums of the Chicago Police Department) and Toronto(Toronto Fire Services Pipes and Drums).
The Quebec City St. Patrick’s Day Parade offers a unique opportunity to see all these groups perform at the same event.
The Quebec City Police Service’s ceremonial unit also joins the party with the RCMP Pipes, Drums and Dancers, the Olde Fort St. John St. Andrew’s 78th Fraser Highlanders and the Druméthiques de Québec.
Citizens will also see a parade of Irish greyhounds, Celtic dance troupes, leprechauns, historical entertainers, circus performers, Gaelic soccer clubs and a fine representation of Irish families who participate in the event year after year. In total, more than 50 groups of participants are joining the Parade!
